Most urban ministry leaders have very few people that they can turn to when faced with difficult circumstances. We listen to and coach them through matters relating to ministry, family, and personal challenges.
Listening is one of the most important things that we do.
Urban ministry leaders serve in areas with high concentrations of crime, poverty, joblessness, homelessness, illiteracy, and children whose parents are incarcerated. These extreme levels of trauma are mentally draining. We connect these leaders and their spouses to professional counselors to help with their mental health.
We meet with urban ministry leaders and their spouses to help them develop a rhythm of rest and restoration. This includes taking short breaks, and extended family vacations. We provide resources to ensure that they will take time off.
